Dog Walking In Walthamstow, East London

When you think of London, you don't necessarily think of luscious green fields and great places to walk your dog, but it actually has some great parks and fields that are ideal for dog walking. As I'm leaving London next month, I thought I'd share with you my favourite place to walk the dogs where I live, in Walthamstow.

Walthamstow Marshes are a great place to walk the dogs. There is literally miles and miles of green fields and even a little canal that I always stop by to eat my packed lunch. There are always loads of other dogs walkers and runners there too so it's great for socialising your dogs, but if you go in the middle of the day, you can literally have the whole walk to yourself.

They even have bat walks and bird watching walks in the early hours of the morning, and there are always plenty of people fishing along the river.

I love looking at all the house boats on the canal. There are always so pretty and there is one in particular that has converted the roof of the boat into a garden. So pretty! I hope I can have a house boat one day. There is something about living on one that really appeals to me.

Even in the winter, when the canal is frozen over, it's still one of the prettiest places in London, especially as it feels like you could be miles away from the city.

Bambi and Bear love it here and it will be one of the things I miss the most about London.

Have you got any hidden gems that are great for dog walks? Let me know in the comments :)
